Well well – Ive recomissioned a 1996 TRX and am delighted you have documented your efforts to date. I found mine in Katoomba a few years ago , i was in fact in hospital recupertating from a heart operation and as soon as I was out I was handing over a couple of grand for a well used striaght TRX.

Ive gone the whole hog on restoring it and added the usual upgraded FCR carbs, Ignitech ignition, Magura radial mastercylinder,golf valves, M- Unit Blue etc.

In any case if you are at Philip Island in October I will too. Happy to share my journey and love to see how you are going – about me – mental health peer support worker in Sydney – 66 years and going strong cheers Dave

Hi there,
Thank you for the review and I understand this is years later but I just got one 2nd hand.
I’m 5’7″ female 75kg’s.
Do you think I’ll be to big for this bike?
It has forward controls.

Ive owned 3 over my life: who are they for…..

The tougher, steeper and slower the terrain……..you need to be 6 Feet tall and 90+Kg and fit…IMO

The more free flowing open trails……..greater range of riders body types and skills.

Hard enduro work – I am now moving to a new 88Kg E-Bike…….why? For serious work you need a KTM, WR250 etc type bikes – about 110Kg fuelled max weight…….but honestly these machines, pulling clutches in and out all day…..to much work…….over kill for 90% of riders that are 40 years old plus like me,
