Hi Craig - funnily enough I have both helmets and have done many thousands of KM in each. My short answer is that I prefer the HJC for longer trips, touring and high speeds and the AGV for shorter trips or stop/starting and around town. The HJC is bigger and feels more like a normal full face lid. I've done big days and shorts days, track days and touring in both. I run a Cardo Packtalk in an Arai, but can't see any dramas in wither of these, possibly more space in the HJC. Here is my AGV Sportmodular review I have been wearing it now for 5 years and it is as new - https://bikereview.com.au/product-review-agv-sportmodular-helmet-2/ and here is my HJC RPHA Carbon review I have been wearing it for 2 years and it is still perfect - https://bikereview.com.au/product-review-hjc-rpha-90s-carbon-modular-helmet/ and more questions let me know I have both lids here at the office and can check anything you need.
Gidday Bike Review,
I am in the market for a new helmet and am tossing up between the AGV Sportmodular carbon fibre and the HJC RPHA 70 (or maybe the 90) again in carbon fibre. I am not neccesarily after a modular helmet but the AGV only make the carbon fibre based helmet in the modular design. I am using the helmet as a road/touring helmet. Both appear to have pretty similarly specs so just wondering what your thoughts are on which you think the better quality, quieter, and of course safer helmet. Also wondering which is the better helmet to accept a Cardo Packtalk unit if any.
