Hey Cliff,
I'd be leaning towards a fall-winter-spring option from current testing. The waterproofing has proven really good, but with the really heavy traffic I get towards home, if it is on the warmer side and I'm not moving consistently I do find I sweat into them a fair bit and they don't breathe quite so well. If the ambient temperature is cool enough this isn't an issue though, and we've had some really warm days this winter, which are probably closer to summer weather. I also get sweaty hands quite easily, so if you're not afflicted with that issue you might find them considerably better in the warmer weather!

Out on the open road I don't think you'd have an issue as a higher average speed and constant airflow should help. As we get consistently warmer days I'll do an update.
