Subtle changes from the 2016 model I have. Quieter? Oh No, it’s to damn quiet as it is. Cush drive update hopefully eradicates previous durability problem. Serious long-distance tourer? Definitely and really comfortable too. My only gripes? Too tall for my 5’8″ frame and I now have a stupid grin whenever I ride it. Not perfect but intoxicating.

Yes, Wayne, I’d be waiting for the updated version.

This test interested me when it came to the comment on the tyres. Mine came fitted with Bridgestone T30 tyres, as all the 2017 models are supposed to be, not the Trail type.

Things don’t seem to happen too fast with regard to the MV Agusta supply chain over here, either, but the bikes are worth the wait.

Thanks John, I,m in Canada where we have had distribution issues with MVA for 2017. The Australian distributor has taken over North American distribution but so far no bikes are available, only parts. Based on your note it is clearly worth waiting for the 2017, or a 2018 if the distribution issue isn’t resolved soon.

Wayne, the best of the new features are not on the previous 2015/2016 version. The engine has been redesigned to include all sorts of upgrades to make it smoother, quieter and Euro IV compliant and the electronics has been reprogrammed, so I waited and got the 2017 model.

In reply to Wayne. Hey Wayne, the Lusso is a great option to look at. Most of those tweaks (as opposed to the features themselves) are new to the 2017 model, such as updated electronics settings, however they still share the vast majority of features.

For clarification, Im considering purchasing the 2016 model of this bike and was wondering if the updates you mention in the “Tech Talk” portion of the article are only on the 2017 model or would the 2016’s also have those?
