The Ranger is just what I’ve been looking for. Old fashioned look with all the modern safety gear. I used to ride a 1926 Indian but that was too heavy for my light build. I will be over to see our Victorian dealer about one soon.

I am going to buy a brand new Ural Ranger i think it is value for $ money and a great set up, strong reliable and perfect for what i want in Australia dirt roads, i can carry my dog plus kit for various applications ten out of ten i give this bike it is i believe top of the range for its durability and capabilities…

Nice read, nice pics. Glad to see Australians like the Ural. I just bought a used (3,100 miles) 2015 up grade Patrol Model and added a bunch of bolt on goodies… Too old for anything else. Had everything in 55 years of driving but the Ural is a hoot. Served with Australians long ago in a faded war… good guys. Was a highlight, mate.

Well go out and buy a brand new sidecar the quality like a Ural plus Brembo brake and come back and tell me if You have any change from your $10,000! Then wire it up and certification after fitting it to your motorbike and you aren’t even adding leading link front forks. Bought and fitted you might be adding up to $5000! By comparison a Ural sidecar rig is comparatively inexpensive if you do the sums first. I will guarantee you that.

I do wonder why the prices are so high? I compared the prices against the price of a 2019 Harley-Davidson Softail Fat Bob 114 – which is in a similar price range to models with 2WD in the US; 2018 Ural Gear Up for example.
Australian models have no 2WD option (due to the left side Chair) but the base motorcycle stripped of the sidecar must be grossly overpriced when compared to any Japanese shaft-drive, or belt-drive twins which produce more H.P., and which can range in price between $9.995 – 16,995.
Is the sidecar (frame, car, wheel, suspension, wiring & lights) really worth another $10,000 or more?
