I started on the tank of BMW’s R51/2 at the age of two years I’m now 66yo. I’ve owned a November built 1972 made R75/5 bought for me six months before my seventeenth birthday and three months before I could get my learners permit! In those days shopping centre car parking areas were considered private land so police couldn’t book you! My father used to take me to a local car park and let me ride it up to 4k rpm the maximum run in rpm my favourite BMW up until now was a 1976 R90S now I can ride two of them at once!!! Dave. PS I saw my first R18 this afternoon I couldn’t believe my eyes!!!
