Hi Michael – yeah look it was gone before we realised that Aprilia haven’t released the info… otherwise we would have measured it all. We are running a Tuono 660 v RS 660 soon and will find out the detailed dimensions. Jeff.

In reply to Khaled A. Hi there - we never really get to ride the bikes long enough for reliability testing, aside from our long termers. I did around 1000km or so, over two weeks, with no issues and no noticeable bad heat. Great little bike! Jeff.

Excellent detailed review, how would you rate the reliability of the RS 660? Did you have any problems with heat emitting from the engine during the testing phase? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the duck’s guts. One thing, when you list the dimensions, and say Ground clearance N/A, Overall width N/A, Overall length N/A etc, surely a tape measure would help.

Nice review! But I would save 3000 AUD more for Panigale V2. RS660 in OZ is too expensive, 18K RA will be reasonable.

Jeff no doubt a great bike but you are spot on re it being let down by the pricing. In the UK the RS660 is only slightly more expensive than the Honda CBR650, around 1500 quid more. So in Australia it is around $7000 too expensive based on that comparison. I can’t help but think that the extraordinary high price point in AU is crushing potential sales. I would take a Ducati Supersport for the same price, or the Supersport S for a fraction more. There are plenty of other options in the up to $21000 ride away price bracket it is competing in e.g. Ninja 1000SX, the new Suzuki GSXS1000, Yamaha R7, Suzuki GSXR-750, GSX-1000R etc. You have to really want the Aprilia to buy one. They will probably make a good second hand buy when the depreciation kicks in.
