hi Joseph,

I had the 1975 version of this bike – the one with the different fibre glass tank, for about 34 years.

When they produced the 900SS’s in the 70’s, they used to build them with the parts on hand at the time.

They came out with a mixture of brake caliper and forks/shocks.

Some has Cerriani units and some had Mazzochi – it was pot luck what you got.

Mine didn’t have matching engine and frame numbers either.

They were produced after the very successful 750 SS’s and a lot of them had frame numbers starting with DM750SS…….

Hi Joseph, I’m not sure I can help you there – I really don’t know the answer to be completely sure, I’m sorry about that. Maybe try a Ducati forum or somewhere there are some more experienced SuperSport experts. Good luck with your restoration – rare bike these days! Jeff.

Hello John .I too have a 77'' 900 supersport i am doing a restoration on. My question is my title matches the motor # and not the frame. both are origional to the bike acording to the book'' Ducati Bible'' What are you thoughts on that. Is this typical ? My cell is 724-502-0035

Great job.
Was interested to hear that Albi did the chroming, polishing and replating.
Does anyone have contact details for Albi?
