I had an '82 Katana 1000, which was stolen, damn it. With the insurance $ I bought an '85 GS1150. It wasn't quite what I wanted, but I liked it. My idea was to swap out the heart of the 1150 into a Bimota SB5 kit. I even went down to the importer to look one over. When I went to my dealer, who I wanted to assemble the Bimota, he said "Uh, could I recommend you waiting a few months?". I really didn't want to. He said "I really think you should wait a few months". So I did. That fall Suzuki released the '86 GSXR1100, and I duly traded my GS1150 on it. I still have it. The 1150 weighed 548 pounds. The GSXR weighed 434 pounds. It was and is still a revelation
