I have a UK registered H2b. When I was a moped monkey and 16 years old a friend let me have a go on his, which was a H2. "Once around the block, and that's it"!! "Don't you F☆☆☆in' drop it either!!" I jumped on not believing my look. Kicked her up and we were away. I was extremely careful an got her and myself back in one piece. The experience was not forgotten and I just had to have one as a recycled teenager! Martin. Staffordshire.

No mention of wheelies mate. Me and my house mate had one each in 73 and we spent most of our time on the back wheel. Unfortunately I did get into a tank slapper one Sunday arvo got spat off at around 140Kmph and wrote her off. I have never had a bike that tapped into my adrenalin like the H2. I have raced TZ’s, P&M 1000 Kawasaki, and a GSX1100R. The H2 is still my favourite. I’m 68 now and sometimes think a Yamaha MT09 may be a reincarnation the H2 Kwaka, and I’m like to test my theory but if it has the same effect on my senses as the H2 I will probably end up with another broken shoulder and pelvis. Your quarter mile time is about 1 second slower than I achieved on my H2.

I just bought one and can’t wait to take it out. Getting it licensed, then safety inspection and on to a good summer of riding.
Your review was both good and bad. The bad was just what you said, not quite as the legend states. The good, it was refreshing hearing a candid review!
The truth is that the bike was super fast for 1973 but technology continues and the bikes today are much faster. I love the nostalgic look and the roar of the exhaust.v
