I went to a dealer to look at the yamaha's.
Simply looked at the 155, pushed in the front suspension, knew enough and never looked at it again. Really feels like a luxury moped 50cc where you cannot expect it to have suspension like a motorbike. I even Heard it 'plingploinging' on the inside of the forklegs. Yes it was a new one.
The Xmax 300 has me flat footed on the floor (i am 192cm and 195 with shoes) so you would think 'this is your bikesize' but then put my legs on the floorboards and the handlebar was in the way agains my knees with turning-out the handlebars lets say at 40%. So smaller persons tiptoe and...well you get it.
Just as with todays cars, the scooters are never perfect. So it looks we always have to accept not finished products. At least these scooters arent as expensive..but i wish the producers spend just a few days more at the quality and designtable to give us also thoroughly tested products.
Really want to thank you for the effort on these pages and reviews, looks very refreshing.

In reply to <a href="https://bikereview.com.au/yamaha-nmax-155-test/#comment-282180">Steve</a>.

Hi Steve,
The XMAX is pretty good, I have tested it and I am about to publish that review. Although it is a lot bigger than the 155, on the motorway at 100km/h and above, the wind buffeting from the screen was unbearable - I tried multiple helmets too. I did not have the same issue with the previous XMAX300. Aside from that, it's fantastic, but the NMAX is also really good. If sustained 100km/h plus speeds are not required, you can't beat the 155... Keep an eye out for my XMAX test in a week or so and I'll compare the two in that. Jeff.

Hi Jeff,

I am litterally the same height and weight as yourself. Tossing up between the new 2025 turbo version of this or an xmax.

What are your opinions? I was surprised to read you saying it was not cramped on the nmax.

Hmm the XMAX is a bit tall. Have you tried a KYMCO Downtown 350? https://kymco.com.au/downtown-350i-tcs/

Hi there - we are not sure about the Turbo Neo yet - and also, it is not actually turbocharged - it is just a name for marketing hype... Sadly!
