Moto Machine’s Desert Eagle

Following weeks of voting, the public award delivered a fitting finale to one of the most creative custom motorcycle competitions in Australia, with five Royal Enfield dealerships transforming the Shotgun 650 into wildly different custom machines.

While the expert judging panel selected GRID Motorcycles’ remarkable RE1000 as the Expert’s Choice Award winner, the broader riding community rallied behind the striking Desert Eagle, pushing it to the top of the public vote.

The Desert Eagle took the Shotgun 650 platform in an entirely different direction, transforming it into a nitrous-equipped, post-apocalyptic desert bobber inspired by Dakar racers and the raw aggression of Group B rally machinery.

Built by Moto Machine, the one-off custom features a hand-fabricated steel fuel tank, tank-mounted functional ram-air intake, aero wheel discs, custom side-exit twin exhausts and an eye-catching three-row LED headlight arrangement. Perhaps its most outrageous feature is a fully functional nitrous oxide (NOS) system, helping make it one of the most talked-about builds of the competition.

The public vote concluded a highly successful third season of the Busted Knuckles Build-Off, with each dealership bringing a completely unique vision to the Shotgun 650 platform.

MotoMAX’s Dirty Purdy delivered a stripped-back, aggressive interpretation complete with raw steel bodywork and high-mounted twin shotgun exhausts. House of Motorcycles entered the minimalist Sawn-Off, while Fast Fuel Motorcycles created the aviation-inspired Spitfire 650, featuring ammunition-box saddlebags and functional start-up flame throwers.

GRID Motorcycles’ RE1000, meanwhile, stunned judges with a world-first 1000cc Royal Enfield parallel-twin conversion housed in a bespoke chrome moly frame, securing the Expert’s Choice Award.

The close voting result highlighted the strength of all five builds and reinforced the Shotgun 650’s credentials as one of the most customisable platforms in the Royal Enfield lineup.
