MV Agusta RC line-up for 2017 WSS revealed
2017 World Supersport looks set to bring podiums for MV Agusta Reparto Corse with new riders, PJ Jacobsen (USA) and Alessandro Zaccone (ITA) riding the F3 675 RC.
Their F3 675 RC will be the updated 2017 street model that has had an extensive list of updates throughout the chassis, engine and electronics, giving the team a competitive edge.
23-year-old Patrick “PJ” Jacobsen from the USA, has completed three full seasons in the WorldSSP Championship, collecting 13 podiums, finishing 6th in 2014, 2nd in 2015 and 4th in 2016.
Thanks to his qualities of speed and technical expertise, the young American rider will aim to bring the MV Agusta Reparto Corse team on the top of the WorldSSP charts and get the first WorldSSP Title for the Italian manufacturer
Patrick “PJ” Jacobsen said, “I’m really looking forward to this new adventure with MV Agusta. To be joining with the Italian manufacturer is a privilege. Already having a test on the bike in Jerez, I felt really comfortable on the bike after a few sessions. I’m really looking forward this year with MV and seeing what we can accomplish. I’m excited to get to some more tests on the bike and than ready to go to round 1. Thanks MV Agusta for this opportunity!”
Teammate, 17-year-old Italian Alessandro Zaccone, will be lined up in the FIM Europe Supersport Cup 2017: a class inside the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship which will be raced concurrently with the WorldSSP class but only for the European rounds of the Championship.
The young Italian rider will race alongside Patrick “PJ” Jacobsen: the other MV Agusta Reparto Corse rider attending the WorldSSP class.
Alessandro Zaccone said, “I’m very happy for this opportunity that Team MV Agusta Reparto Corse gave to me. MV Agusta is a historical brand and becoming part of this team really means a lot to me. I have already had a first contact with the F3 in the last test in Jerez and I immediately found a good feeling with the bike and the team. I really look forward to get back on track for the next test.”
