Motorcycling Australia (MA) has announced that the 2018 Australian Speedway Sidecar Senior and Junior Championship entries are now open for Oakburn Park Speedway, Tamworth on April 13-14.

Tamworth Motorcycle Club will host the championship in a change of venue after Gillman hosted the championship in 2017. 2018 also marks the return of the Australian Speedway Sidecar Junior Championship after a year in hiatus.

2017 Australian Speedway Sidecar Senior Championship winners, Trent Headland and Darryl Whetstone will be looking to defend their title.

Headland shared “The challenge of defending our title is driving myself and Darryl, to win it once is one thing but to go a back it up is a real challenge and we are looking forward to this challenge. Tamworth is a great track and we have had good previous results there which gives us good confidence heading in, Tamworth is a big track which suite our style of riding and it suits the set up we run with on our bike.”

The field that includes FIM World Champions- Warren Monson and Andrew Summerhayes and nine-time Australian Champion Darrin Treloar with Jesse Headland with these guys and more looking to chase Headland and Whetstone down.
