Yamaha’s all new 2020 YZ250FX has received a tonne of new updates for this model year, and now the bike is finally on Australian shores and in showrooms ready for purchase. The YZ250FX can be picked up at a ready to ride price of $12,999 incl. GST. Read the overview here.

The 2020 YZ250FX is all-new, receiving the same host of major upgrades as its YZ250F motocross and WR250F enduro stablemates, including a new cylinder and cylinder head, exhaust system, fuel injection, improved electronics, new frame, revised suspension and slimmer and lower body.
Now available, the YZ250FX is delivered in AUS fitted with an off-road kit that includes handguards, rear view mirror, lights and a horn. This qualifies the model for recreational registration in applicable states.

Featuring Yamaha’s revolutionary front-intake, rear-exhaust, liquid-cooled, DOHC four-stroke engine, there’s also a six-speed, wide-ratio transmission, and a new heavy-duty large-diameter clutch delivering enhanced durability.

Power is controlled by Yamaha’s exclusive smartphone Power Tuner app that puts precision tunability in the rider’s hands. A handlebar-mounted button switches between two preselected engine maps on the fly.

The engine’s cylinder head, exhaust system, fuel injection, drivetrain and electrical system have been tuned for linear power delivery across the rev range as well as tougher durability – perfect for fast riding in the bush.

The new bilateral beam frame features forged sections at the swingarm pivot and engine mounting brackets to provide a nimble lightweight feeling in tight technical terrain, while Yamaha’s class leading KYB suspension ensures maximum control and traction. The fully adjustable spring-type forks with speed-sensitive damping, and rear shock with large 50mm piston have been thoroughly tested and tuned for cross country racing.

Other standout features include, large 270mm front disc brake, quick-adjust clutch, wide 55mm platform footpegs, four-position rubber-mounted handlebar clamps, aluminium handlebars, rugged plastic skid plate, and a side stand.
