The Liqui Moly Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix attracted around 91,245 spectators across the weekend this year, including 38,645 on race day, making it the highest-attended Australian round since Casey Stoner’s final win on the Island in 2012…
The action on track didn’t disappoint either. In a moment that will be etched in Australian motorcycle racing history, home rider Senna Agius stormed to victory in the Moto2 race, the first time an Australian has ever won a Moto2 race on home soil. Agius dominated, taking the lead early and holding on to deliver an emphatic win. Meanwhile in Moto3, another Australian flamed bright: Joel Kelso claimed a superb second place to take the podium in front of a feverish home crowd.

Young Aussie talent Harrison Voight also rose to the occasion with a strong performance finishing 26th, adding to the local flavour of the day, while unlucky Jacob Roulstone crashed out after an epic charge through the pack in Moto3, which would have surely seen two Aussies on the podium.
Off track, the stunning spring weather and a buzzing, packed circuit stood up to the hype — the crowd, the sound, the speed, all aligned to make Sunday one of the most memorable at Phillip Island in years. On the premier class stage, Australian stalwart Jack Miller carried that local momentum into the premier class with a combative showing before sadly losing the front and crashing out. Full report soon.
