In exciting news, Benelli have lifted the lid on the all-new Leoncino at EICMA 2019. We should see the bike mid year. Check out the details...

In exciting news, Benelli have lifted the lid on the all-new Leoncino 800. With the success of the fantastic Benelli Leoncino 500 the 800cc version is the next step for Benelli, raising the power to an impressive 60kW (81.6hp)@9000rpm and lifting torque to 67Nm from the now 754cc liquid-cooled parallel twin-cylinder engine.

The Leoncino 800 makes 60kW and 67Nm, which should make for awesome fun.

The specifications are impressive, with the DOHC four-valves per cylinder liquid-cooled engine being fed by 43mm throttle-bodies. The bore x stroke is 88mm x 62mm and compression ratio is 11.5:1. The wet clutch is a slipper item, which is a plus, and the gearbox is a six-speed unit. The exhaust system is a two-into-one with Catalytic converter and Oxygen sensors. Fuel consumption is claimed at 5.9L/100km.

The frame is all-new and is a tubular steel trellis item with cast sideplates, the swingarm is a steel item and the wheels are now spoked alloy rims with tubeless 120/70 and 180/55 17in tyres.
The forks are 50mm inverted items with adjustable preload, rebound and compression, with 130mm of travel up front. The rear is a single shock with preload and rebound adjustment and 130mm of travel.

The braking system is impressive, dual semi-floating 320mm stainless steel rotors with Brembo four-piston monoblock calipers at the front and a single oversized 260mm rotor with a twin piston caliper at the rear. ABS is featured as standard.

As you can see the styling is completely new compared to the 500, with a more angled and modern looking tank, an LED headlight, TFT dash and new seat. It also features a centrestand.

The 2020 Benelli Leoncino 800 is expected to hit our shores mid 2020, followed by the 800 Trail.
