R 1300 RT: Touring Luxury Redefined
Long regarded as BMW’s ultimate touring motorcycle, the R 1300 RT builds on decades of refinement to deliver even greater comfort, practicality, and performance.

Priced from $39,990 plus on-road costs, the new RT retains its familiar relaxed ergonomics and effortless highway cruising capabilities while incorporating a lighter, more dynamic design. With a wet weight of 281kg and a 24L fuel tank, it remains ideally suited for long-distance travel, whether solo or two-up.

BMW says RT customers typically ride the longest distances annually, using their machines for extended multi-day tours. To further enhance passenger comfort, the new RT offers a Comfort Passenger Package, adding heated seats, heated grips, and a heated backrest, elevating pillion luxury to class-leading levels.

The new RT also integrates a 10.25-inch TFT screen, cruise control, adjustable windscreen, and integral pannier cases colour-matched to the bodywork as standard. Riders benefit from Dynamic ESA, full integral ABS Pro, and EVO Telelever front suspension for superior stability under braking and cornering.

Adaptive Headlights and Shift Assist
For 2025, the R 1300 RT gains BMW’s Headlight Pro system with adaptive turning light. Depending on lean angle, additional LEDs activate to illuminate corners more effectively, improving night-time safety.

Another highlight is BMW’s optional Automated Shift Assistant (ASA), which provides fully automated clutch operation. Riders can choose manual or automatic gear shifting modes, reducing fatigue on long rides while maintaining engagement during spirited sections.

Sportier Side for Active Riders
While comfort and touring prowess remain central to the RT’s appeal, BMW has also enhanced its sporty side. Optional upgrades include the sport brake system, advanced Shift Assistant Pro, and Dynamic Chassis Adaptation (DCA) for more precise suspension control.

The R 1300 RT will be available in several striking colour schemes, including Alpine White 3, Black Storm Metallic (Triple Black style), Racing Blue Metallic (Impulse style), and Blue Ridge Mountain Metallic (Option 719).

R 1300 RS: Performance Meets Practicality
For riders who crave sporty dynamics with touring versatility, BMW’s new R 1300 RS delivers a compelling package. Starting at $23,090 plus on-road costs, the RS combines an aggressive riding position with aerodynamic fairing design to create a true sports tourer ready for both backroad carving and long-haul rides.

The RS features BMW’s latest boxer engine paired with Dynamic ESA suspension, an upside-down fork, full integral ABS Pro, radial front brakes, and standard cruise control. Riders can further tailor handling and power delivery through Riding Modes Pro, which adds Dynamic and Dynamic Pro modes to the standard Rain, Road, and Eco settings.

Sharper Styling, Enhanced Technology
Visually, the RS adopts a more assertive and athletic silhouette, emphasising its performance credentials while retaining practical features such as an adjustable windscreen, comfortable split seats, and extensive luggage options.

The Performance variant includes sports suspension, milled and adjustable footrest systems, a tinted windscreen, and sport tyres, while the Triple Black and Option 719 variants incorporate premium styling elements and exclusive finishes.

Four distinct paint options are available: Racing Blue Metallic, Black Storm Metallic (Triple Black), Light White (Performance), and Brooklyn Grey Metallic (Option 719).

Lightweight Wheels and ShiftCam Engine
Both RT and RS models benefit from new 17-inch aluminium wheels that are 1.4kg lighter, reducing rotational mass for improved agility, acceleration, and braking response.

The boxer engine itself incorporates BMW’s ShiftCam technology, enabling variable valve timing and lift for strong torque delivery throughout the rev range. Peak torque of 149Nm arrives at 6,500rpm, while the redline extends to 9,000rpm, ensuring effortless overtaking and dynamic performance.

Electronic Rider Aids and Connectivity
Both models come equipped with a suite of electronic rider aids, including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Hill Start Control, and multi-controller interfaces. The RT adds a two-tone fanfare horn, integral luggage racks, and optional audio systems for maximum touring functionality.

For safety, BMW offers the Riding Assistant package featuring Active Cruise Control (ACC) and Front Collision Warning (FCW). ACC maintains set distances from vehicles ahead, while FCW provides visual and audible alerts if a potential collision is detected.
