The 2025 Aussie Flat Track Nationals (AFTN) kicks off this weekend, July 26–27, with a high-octane double-header at Action Park, Maryborough. The event marks the series’ first-ever visit to the Queensland venue and promises two full days of bar-to-bar racing featuring Australia’s flat track talent. Pics: RbMotoLensSupported again by Yamaha bLU cRU, the 2025 season launch will feature Rounds 1 and 2 across two distinct layouts – flat track racing on Saturday and TT action on Sunday – in the popular AFTN dual-format. With four races per class each day, fitness and consistency will be key for riders gunning for early championship momentum.

Leading the charge in the Pro 450 Class is defending champion Tom Herrick (#14), who will renew his intense rivalry with Jarred Brook (#21). Their 2024 title battle went to the wire, and this year’s showdown will again have Bunda Fine Jewels’ gold and diamond ring – and national championship bragging rights – up for grabs. Brook, a Sunshine Coast local, said there’ll be “no home advantage” on the all-new track surface, while Herrick says he’s just focused on doing his best in every race.The star-studded entry list also includes ASBK Superbike racer John Lytras and Ronan Jacobs, riding with support from Australian Road Services. The support program features the Women’s Championship class, now a fully accredited national title, plus the Junior Lites and Junior 85s, ensuring plenty of action across all age groups.



Series organiser Dave Maddock praised the ongoing growth of the championship and thanked key partners Yamaha, Motul, MXstore, Dunlop, Fist, and Kawasaki. Maddock also confirmed new venues in Wodonga and Griffith, with Griffith set to feature night racing for the first time.Both days kick off with practice and qualifying from 9am, followed by Pro 450 Superpole at 11:30am, and racing from 11:45am.
