A total of 20 Aprilia entries lined up for the season opener, underlining the model’s dominance in the category. Leading the charge for Aprilia was Robem Engineering rider Hank Vossberg, who delivered a standout performance across the weekend. The 15-year-old American rode through the field from seventh on the grid in Race 1, eventually breaking clear to take a convincing victory by 4.446 seconds. Vossberg also set the fastest lap of the race with a 1:56.846, highlighting the RS 660’s pace at the iconic Florida circuit.
Vossberg continued his strong form in Race 2, finishing third in a race shortened to six laps following a red flag. The podium fight went down to the wire, with the young rider crossing the finish line just 0.058 seconds from victory. After the opening round, Vossberg sits second in the championship standings, just four points from the lead.
Aprilia’s depth in the class was also evident in qualifying, where Chris Parrish from Ghetto Customs secured pole position aboard an RS 660 with a 1:57.625 lap. Parrish converted that speed into a top-five finish in Race 1, further underlining the competitiveness of the platform.
The opening round at Daytona reinforced the Aprilia RS 660’s status as the reference machine in the MotoAmerica Twins Cup category, delivering both winning performance and a strong presence throughout the field as the championship season gets underway.
Hank Vossberg – Robem Engineering “Race 1 went really well. We got a great start and stayed with the group. I made a pass to take the lead and tried to break away from the chasing pack, managing to maintain a good pace. It went really well, and I tried to do the same on Saturday, but with that red flag, we found ourselves with more pressure in the rear tire. It was sliding a lot, and in the final part of the race they managed to catch me. But, in the end, the balance is positive. We scored good points, and that’s what matters.”
