The revamped schedule will see ASBK racing take place across the warmer months for the first time, delivering improved conditions for teams, riders and fans while also opening the door for greater international participation.
The 2026–2027 ASBK Championship will kick off with an appearance at the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix at Phillip Island from October 23–25, 2026, placing the national championship on one of the biggest stages in motorcycling.
From there, the championship will travel across the country for five further rounds, beginning at The Bend Motorsport Park (November 13–15, 2026) before heading to One Raceway (December 4–6, 2026) in New South Wales.
The series will then resume in the new year at Queensland Raceway (January 15–17, 2027), followed by another round at Phillip Island in late February 2027. The championship will conclude with the traditional ASBK Grand Finale under lights at Sydney Motorsport Park on March 19–20, 2027.
Motorcycling Australia CEO Peter Doyle said the move to a summer championship represents a major step forward for ASBK.
“This is a tremendously exciting time for the ASBK Championship as it continues to evolve and push new boundaries,” Doyle said. “It’s a seismic shift, and one that will elevate ASBK to a new level and amplify the amazing level of talent competing in the championship – from the stars of tomorrow in the FIM Oceania Junior Cup to the extraordinarily competitive Superbike class.
“There’s already a real buzz about the ASBK summer calendar, and we look forward to seeing it come to life in October at the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.”
The new schedule is expected to create fresh opportunities for international riders and Australian expatriates to compete across the entire championship, adding even greater depth and spectacle to the grid.
While attention now turns toward the debut of the summer calendar later this year, the current 2026 ASBK Championship continues this weekend with round two at Sydney Motorsport Park on March 27–28, where the famous night race will once again see Australia’s best riders battle under lights.
