After two days of heats and repechages across the four main classes, Sunday’s finals produced spectacular racing and four new national champions.

In Pro 250, Brayden Bradford (GASGAS) confirmed his status as one of the brightest prospects in Australian dirt track. Following a string of tight heats where Daniel Garard (Husqvarna) twice had his measure, Bradford saved his best for the decider. He powered to a 1.8-second win over Lucas Quinn (KTM), with Brock Hutchins (KTM) edging out Paolo D’Amato-Barbaro (KTM) for third.

The Pro 450 final was another thriller, with Ronan Jacobs (KTM) extending his dominance in 2025. Already the Senior Dirt Track Champion earlier this year, Jacobs completed a rare double by winning the Track Championship too. He beat Quinn by just under a second, while defending champion Rory McQualter (KTM) had to settle for third.

In MX Open, the weekend’s most subscribed and star-studded class, Kayden Downing (Husqvarna) proved unstoppable. The local favourite showed his trademark aggression and speed to take victory ahead of Cooper Andersen (Husqvarna) and the ultra-consistent Quinn. McQualter and Bradford rounded out the top five.

The Pro Open Women’s final belonged once again to Briony Hendrickson (KTM). The 32-year-old Queenslander delivered another commanding performance, crossing the line four seconds clear of long-time rival Tayla Street (Honda). Latiya Hyde (KTM) claimed third, further underlining the depth of talent in the women’s ranks.

Support Classes and Junior Talent-

Lang Park also showcased the next generation of Australian dirt track stars. Zack Wishart (50cc Division 2), Ryder Smith (65cc 7-U9), George Holmkvist (85cc 9-U13) and Neiko Donovan (250cc 13-U16) all claimed national titles in the junior divisions. In the Over 40s Unlimited support, Matt Allan emerged victorious, adding to the weekend’s packed honours list.

A Century of Racing-

For Townsville Motorcycle Club, hosting the championship was more than just a sporting milestone. It was a celebration of 100 years of grassroots racing at Lang Park, a venue that has shaped countless champions and remains a cornerstone of Australian track racing.

From the roar of the juniors to the precision of the senior finals, the 2025 event highlighted not only the sport’s fiercely competitive spirit but also its vibrant community. Riders, families, and fans came together to honour the club’s centenary in the best way possible — with racing that lived up to the occasion.

As the chequered flag fell on the finals, it was clear the Townsville Motorcycle Club had done more than just celebrate its past. It had cemented its place in the future of Australian motorcycle sport.
