Australia’s motorcycle racing paddock is a close-knit community, and few people are more beloved within it than Michelle Eastburn. Michelle’s life took a devastating turn in 2023 when she sustained a catastrophic spinal injury, leaving her paralysed from the torso down. Despite the immense daily challenges, Michelle continues to fight with incredible resilience as she undergoes intensive rehabilitation therapy in the hope of regaining independence.

In support of Michelle’s recovery, a Charity Golf Day is being held on Wednesday 12 June at Lynwood Country Club, NSW. The event will feature a modified Stableford golf tournament, as well as a more casual mini golf competition — all in the spirit of fun and community. Funds raised will go directly toward Michelle’s recovery, including the purchase of a state-of-the-art electric sit-to-stand wheelchair, hyperbaric therapy, full-body red light treatments for nerve regeneration, and trial stem cell therapy — none of which are covered by insurance.

The event is being organised by Michelle’s friends and colleagues, with generous backing from Yamaha Motor Australia. While not an official Yamaha event, the company’s support reflects how deeply Michelle is respected across the industry.
