Momentum Building For DesmoSport Ducati
The technical 3.1km Queensland Raceway is set to host the third round of the Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) this weekend. After a solid pre-event test, Broc Pearson is well-prepared for the two 16-lap races aboard the DesmoSport Ducati Panigale V4 R.
Team co-owner, Ben Henry: “We had a good couple of days testing at QR last month with Broc putting in competitive, consistent lap times, so I’m confident that we can build on the form we had in Sydney to have strong races weekend. The challenge really is in the circuits simplicity. Although there’s only six corners, we need to give Broc a bike that’s set up perfectly to handle the stop-start nature of the circuit, the hard acceleration and hard braking to give him the tools he needs to be as close to perfect as he can be, lap after lap.”
Team co-owner, Troy Bayliss: “It’s going to be an interesting weekend. It’s such a different circuit to Phillip Island and Eastern Creek (SMSP) and it always mixes things up in the championship, and I’m sure this weekend won’t be any different. Broc is fit, confident and ready to go, so lets see how the weekend unfolds.”
Broc Pearson: “I’m really looking forward to this weekend. Although I was seventh overall last round, we had good pace in the races and I felt like I was racing with those lead riders for the first time this year. It gives me some confidence that everything we’ve been doing as a team has been heading in the right direction, and I got that same feeling from the testing we did here at Queensland Raceway too. It’s going to be another fast weekend at the front, but I’m determined to put the DesmoSport Ducati Panigale V4 R in the best position I can.”
