Shannons Broadford Bike Bonanza on show at MotoGP
The Shannons Insurance Broadford Bike Bonanza is one of Australia’s biggest and most renowned non-competitive bike gatherings held over the Saturday and Sunday of the Easter weekend, 15th-16th of April and will this weekend launch at the 2016 Australian Moto GP.
This year has seen the introduction of the Broadford Bike Bonanza Event Coordinator Rachelle Wilkinson who in the past has worked closely with the previous coordinator Peter Drakeford to ensure the smooth handover of the event.
This year Rachelle and the team have been working collaboratively to celebrate ‘All Things Ducati’ and the ‘Romsey Grass Track Era’, and this weekend will see Rachelle officially open entries at the trade stand in the Moto GP Expo shed, at the 2016 Michelin Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.
“I am excited to be taking over this event, this year. I have been following in Peter’s footsteps the last eight years, giving him a hand so actually running the day to day of the Bonanza is nothing new to me,” Wilkinson shared.
“We have Shannons Insurance on board this year as the naming right sponsor, which is fantastic. We had a great time with them last year, so it’s great to be working closely with them again this year.
“This year we are celebrating 90 years in Australian Ducati History in racing, looking forward to getting some beautiful Ducati bikes at Broadford over the weekend, and we are celebrating the Romsey Grass Track Era, with the Speedway and Dirt Track.
“I will be in the Expo Shed at MotoGP this weekend and would love to see everyone down there signing up. If you won’t be there this weekend, entries will open online from next week.” She finished.
Rachelle currently works part time at the Motorcycling Australia office coordinating the event, and is an avid motorcyclist.
Online entries for the 2017 Shannons Insurance Broadford Bike Bonanza will open this Sunday the 30th of October via the Motorcycling Australia website. More information will follow in the coming days.
