Dunn, a long-time motorcycle enthusiast with a BMW F 900 GS in his garage, brings more than three decades of automotive industry experience to the position. After over 20 years at Nissan Motor Company, he joined BMW Group Australia in 2019 as head of training and retail HR, where he spearheaded a major shift to digital training with a new omnichannel approach that boosted business performance. He also created BMW Group Australia’s award-winning apprenticeship program, supporting the future of the automotive industry by nurturing the next generation of skilled technicians.

Steven Dunn, the new GM of BMW Motorrad Australia, is a lifetime rider who currently chooses an F 900 XR.

In 2022, Dunn transitioned to lead technical operations and customer quality, advancing BMW’s roadside assistance, warranty services and customer relations. He also played a key role in piloting BMW’s global “Proactive Care” program, focused on elevating customer support and experience.

BMW Group Australia CEO Wolfgang Buechel said Dunn’s industry knowledge, leadership strengths and genuine passion for motorcycles make him an ideal choice to guide BMW Motorrad Australia’s continued growth. “Steve’s 30 years of automotive experience, proven leadership and strategic vision make him the perfect fit as we expand in this dynamic market,” Mr Buechel said.

He also thanked Andreas Lundgren for driving transformation and delivering record-breaking sales for BMW Motorrad in 2024, with 3,549 motorcycles sold across Australia — the highest annual result in the brand’s local history. BMW Motorrad Australia enters this next chapter with big ambitions for growth under Dunn’s leadership.
