Supercross Set to Ignite Sydney with Historic Sharks Stadium Debut
The Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship will roar back into Sydney for the first time in seven years on October 25, transforming Sharks Stadium in Cronulla into a dirt-fuelled battleground for Round 3 of the 2025 season. Press: AUSX Media
In a first for the venue, more than 6,000 tonnes of dirt will be hauled in to create a full-scale Supercross track, setting the stage for bar-banging racing, FMX stunt shows, and a high-energy pit party. The cross-code launch saw AUSX stars share the spotlight with NRL heroes from the Cronulla Sharks, marking the start of a new sporting partnership.
The event featured an on-field rider roll-in and a jersey swap between AUSX riders and Sharks players, led by club captain Cameron McInnes alongside teammates Sifa Talakai and Billy Burns. McInnes said the collaboration was a natural fit.
“Two sports that demand immense skill, athleticism and fearlessness — it’s the perfect crossover,” McInnes said. “We’re proud to host this historic event at Sharks Stadium and I can’t wait to feel the atmosphere on race day.”
The rider line-up is headlined by 9-time AUSX Champion and NSW favourite Matt Moss, who has confirmed this will be his final Sydney appearance before retirement. Moss, a legend of the sport, said the race will be an emotional send-off. “Sydney crowds have always meant the most to me. To ride one last time in front of a NSW crowd where it all started — it’s going to be special.”
Joining Moss will be fellow NSW rider Dylan Wills and SX1 title contender Aaron Tanti, representing the Monster Energy CDR Yamaha Team. Fans can expect a stacked field of international-level talent and hard-fought racing.
Alongside the racing, spectators will enjoy a full entertainment program including FMX stunt shows, live music, fan zone activations, rider signings, and plenty of family-friendly action.
