Team Australia Gearing Up for ISDE Round 99: Bergamo Awaits
The 99th FIM International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) kicks off this Sunday, August 24, on the rugged and varied terrain surrounding Bergamo, Italy — and Team Australia is primed to chase ISDE glory across three elite categories. Check out the details you need to know. Press: MA
Australia will field a full slate of competitors in the World Trophy (Senior), Junior World Trophy, and Women’s World Trophy teams. In total, more than 660 riders from 32 nations are entered, as the Aussie squads look to reclaim the Trophy title for the first time since 2018.
Riders are already in Italy, scoping out the demanding special tests. Though organizers expect drier sections than last year’s event in Spain, Bergamo’s mixture of high mountains, steep rocky climbs, fast cross-country stages, and a concluding motocross test ensures nothing will be easy or predictable.
Leading the Senior World Trophy Team is Daniel Milner (KTM), the 2018 overall individual winner, alongside Josh Strang (Beta), Jonte Reynders (KTM), and rookie Jye Dickson (Beta). Milner nearly tops the current Yamaha Australian Enduro Championship standings, while Strang has secured recent top-10 finishes in America’s GNCC series. Reynders and Dickson add strong E1 and E3 results from domestic racing.
In the Junior World Trophy Team, Kyron Bacon (Kawasaki), Korey McMahon (KTM), and Gus Riordan (KTM) represent Australia’s rising stars. Bacon is already based in Italy mid-campaign, McMahon continues to impress in AusEnduro, and Riordan leads Aussies in GNCC.
For the Women’s World Trophy Team, Jess Gardiner (Yamaha) — an Australian Motorsport Hall of Fame inductee — lines up with 18-year-old Danielle McDonald (Yamaha) and Madison Healey (KTM). McDonald enters fresh from intensive training, while Healey brings proven versatility across enduro, MX, and desert racing.
Racing days for the ISDE will be bookended by an opening ceremony in Bergamo and the final team presentations. In addition to the Trophy teams, Australian club contingents will also compete, with Dandenong (VIC), Oyster Bay (NSW), and Dungog (NSW) among those representing at the grassroots level.
Fans can follow the action through FIM-MOTO.TV (subscription required) and Motorcycling Australia’s daily updates across its website and social platforms. Team Australia currently sits fourth across the major classes after ISDE 2024 — and only a strong collective effort in Bergamo will bring that Trophy back home.
