Triumph Racing Confirm Jordan Smith and Austin Forkner For AMA SX
Triumph Factory Racing will enter the premier 450SX class of AMA Supercross for the first time in 2026, with Jordon Smith and Austin Forkner confirmed to race the TF 450-X. The season begins at Anaheim 1 on January 10, 2026. Press: Triumph Australia
Smith, who enjoyed a standout first year with the team in 2025 that included Triumph’s maiden 250SX Main Event victory, is set to step up to the 450 class once he completes recovery from shoulder surgery. The 30-year-old sustained the injury at the final SMX round and is targeting a return at round seven in Arlington, Texas.
In the meantime, Austin Forkner will race the opening rounds of the 450SX championship. After several productive test days on the TF 450-X, the Missouri native quickly adapted to the larger machine, prompting the team to field him in the premier class for at least the first six rounds. Forkner is currently expected to return to the TF 250-X for the 250SX East division when Smith resumes racing.
Triumph’s 450SX push forms part of a broader expansion of its off-road racing programme. Mikkel Haarup will campaign the TF 450-X in the 2026 Pro Motocross Championship, continuing development of the bike ahead of an MXGP return in 2027, while Jalek Swoll rejoins the 250SX East field following injury, aiming to build on his previous podium success with Triumph.
The 2026 season represents a significant next step for Triumph Factory Racing as it enters its third year of top-level off-road competition.
