Review: Tony ‘Pommie’ Wilding
To compliment my MotoDry AirMax jacket, Moto National Accessories was also kind enough to supply me with a new pair of MotoDry Street riding pants for the KTM Adventure launch, and these are matched really well to the jackets styling.
Like the jacket, the Street Pants offer a removable winter liner, making summer riding a cooler prospect. Also helping keep your legs cool in summer are the vents in the front, which can be opened or shut by way of the waterproof zips.
They are made from tough 600 denier abrasive rated nylon material, with CE approved knee and hip armour protection inserts. The pants have four generous pockets with waterproof zips, I also like that the buttons are all rubber coated so you don’t damage your bike’s paintwork when leaning over the tank.
The pants are elasticised at the top with an adjustable Velcro fastener that has a rubber tag to stop your wet cold fingers slipping off. The inner winter liner can be removed in a matter of seconds by way of a zip by the hips and one each in the legs, it can then thrown in your backpack should the weather warm up while you’re out and about.
Riding with the pants on, I found that I had great movement and flexibility in my legs, even with the winter layer fitted; this is no doubt helped by the stretch panels just above the knees. As with the MotoDry AirMax jacket, I couldn’t of asked to be any warmer with the pants, they did a great job.
Feeling relaxed and flexible with winter gear on is vitally important in rider safety, some gear can feel bulky and heavy, which can slow your reaction time down, but I can say that the MotoDry Street pants feel great while riding, I just had to keep remembering not to try and get my knee down and damage my nice new pants.
The MotoDry Street Pants are available in black in sizes S to 7XL, and Stout, for $189.95 RRP, from all good motorcycle stores. For more information see www.motonational.com.au.
Special thanks to Moto National Accessories.
