Penrite ProMX Championship Grand Final Showdown at QMP
The stage is set for the finale as the 2025 Penrite ProMX Championship presented by AMX Superstores heads to Queensland Moto Park (QMP), August 2-3. With multiple titles still on the line following Round 7 at Echo Valley, Toowoomba, we’re ready to conclude Australia’s premier motocross championship.
Connolly Claims MX2 Title Early-
One title is already in the bag. Polyflor Honda Racing’s Brodie Connolly delivered a clinical 1-1 performance in the Pirelli MX2 class at Toowoomba to successfully defend his title with one round to spare. The Kiwi heads to QMP with an unassailable 50-point lead over Ryder Kingsford (Monster Energy Yamalube Yamaha), who now sits second in the standings ahead of KTM’s Noah Ferguson.
Honda Sweeps Toowoomba-
It was a clean sweep for Honda at Echo Valley, with the red riders claiming victory in every category.
Kawasaki MX1: Kyle Webster (Boost Mobile Honda Racing) scored a wire-to-wire win in Moto 1, then backed it up with a hard-fought P3 in the second outing. With championship leader Jed Beaton (CDR Yamaha Monster Energy) sidelined due to injury, Webster’s consistent performance hands him the MX1 red plate heading into QMP. He leads KTM’s Nathan Crawford by 16 points, with Beaton and Crawford tied on points but separated on countback.
MAXXIS MX3: Jet Alsop (JPM Race Team Honda) ended Kayd Kingsford’s winning streak with a 1-2 result and took the overall round win. Kingsford still holds a commanding 44-point lead in the standings, but Alsop has kept the championship mathematically alive.
EZILIFT MXW: Charli Cannon (SCT Logistics Honda Racing) was again in a league of her own. The defending champion topped qualifying by over five seconds and cruised to another dominant 1-1 scorecard, extending her points lead over Penrite Racing Empire Kawasaki’s Taylah McCutcheon.
Webster, Crawford, Todd Set for MX1 Showdown-
The premier class title is far from settled. Webster’s 273-point total puts him in prime position, but Crawford (257) and Wilson Todd (Boost Mobile Honda Racing) aren’t out of contention. The final round will determine who walks away with the coveted MX1 crown in what’s shaping up as a three-way dogfight.
All Roads Lead to QMP-
With the 2025 season culminating at Queensland Moto Park, anticipation is sky-high. The Toowoomba round delivered some of the year’s best racing despite treacherous conditions, and fans can expect more bar-to-bar action as the championship hits its climax.
Whether it’s Connolly aiming to cap off a dominant season, the MX1 heavyweights battling for supremacy, or the MX3 and MXW titles hanging in the balance, this weekend’s Grand Final promises a world-class motocross spectacle.
