Victorian Government Backs ASBK Return to Phillip Island

Round 6 of the 2025 ASBK Championship will run on September 6–7, adopting the streamlined two-day format that proved successful in 2024. The Victorian Government’s support ensures the event maintains international standards while reinforcing Phillip Island’s reputation as a premier destination for world-class motorsport.
Victorian Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events, Steve Dimopoulos, welcomed the announcement, highlighting the drawcard of Australia’s best riders competing on one of the world’s most iconic tracks. He also confirmed that Victoria will host the Yamaha R3 Blu Cru Asia Pacific Championship for the first time, bringing 20 international riders from across Asia and New Zealand.
Event Highlights:
Premier classes: SW-Motech Superbike, Kawasaki Supersport, and Race and Road Supersport 300 return for their second Phillip Island appearance in 2025.
Future stars: The BLU CRU Oceania Junior Cup gives Australia’s emerging talent a chance to shine on the legendary circuit.
International debut: The Yamaha R3 Blu Cru Asia Pacific Championship makes its Phillip Island debut.
Fans will enjoy free paddock access, pit walks, rider autograph sessions, trade alley displays, and family-friendly activities like the “Mini Moto Come & Try” program. Social media competitions will also offer pillion rides with legends of the sport.
Beyond the track, visitors are encouraged to explore Phillip Island’s unique attractions, including the famous Penguin Parade, Koala Conservation Centre, Seal Rocks, surf beaches, and local dining options.
Peter Doyle, CEO of Motorcycling Australia, praised the Victorian Government’s commitment, noting that the support will enhance the experience for riders, teams, and fans while further cementing ASBK’s position as a key fixture on Australia’s sporting calendar.
Round 6 at Phillip Island promises to deliver unmissable racing action and a boost for regional tourism and hospitality when the ASBK Championship heads to the Island in September.
