Yamaha Aussie Flat Track Nationals Dates Confirmed for 2026
Yamaha Aussie Flat Track Nationals Dates Confirmed for Explosive 2026 Season | The Yamaha Aussie Flat Track Nationals (AFTN) have locked in their 2026 racing calendar, with organisers confirming a seven-round season packed with high-intensity competition across multiple classes.
The national flat track championship will again crown the Pro 450 title over a grueling 29-race schedule, kicking off in Maryborough, Queensland on the weekend of 25–26 July. The season will then move through key regional venues before concluding at Balcary Park in Gunnedah, New South Wales on 7–8 November.
Alongside the premier Pro 450 class, the 2026 calendar will feature competition across Pro Women, Junior Lites, Junior 85, Pro Twins and, for the first time, an Over 35s support category — giving experienced racers a new platform to compete. The change is aimed at strengthening the progression pathway from junior levels into the upper echelons of flat track racing.
Season organisers have retained all of the new venues introduced last year, with Maryborough again hosting both a traditional flat track and a TT layout — a mixed-format course that tests both speed and technical ability. The Griffith round will continue its popular night racing under lights, combining flat track and TT formats on the same day for heightened excitement.
Series organiser Dave Maddock said the 2025 season’s “bumper crowds” and competitive racing confirmed the sport’s growing popularity, especially at regional stopovers. Adding the Over 35s class, he noted, will help more riders remain involved with the sport and foster closer family-oriented participation — a core ethos of Australian flat track racing.
Details of round locations and class structures for the 2026 season are:
Round 1 & 2: Maryborough, QLD – Flat Track & TT layout (25–26 July)
Round 3 & 4: Wodonga, VIC – Flat Track & TT layout (29–30 August)
Round 5: Griffith, NSW – Flat & TT under lights (10 October)
Round 6 & 7: Gunnedah, NSW – Flat & TT layout (7–8 November)
The AFTN remains one of Australia’s most anticipated national motorcycle racing series, celebrating high-octane competition and community engagement throughout the country.
