Sydney Dragway will turn back the clock on May 6 when its popular Aeroflow Race 4 Real series hosts an “Old School Cool” themed race night, offering riders the chance to take their motorcycles down the strip in a relaxed, grassroots environment. Check it out!

Running from 6:00pm to 10:00pm (gates open at 4:30pm), the midweek event is designed to be accessible for everyone—from first-time riders keen to try drag racing, to experienced competitors chasing quick times and bragging rights.

Motorcycle entries are a key part of the night, with riders invited to bring everything from classic machines to modern sportsbikes. Adding to the retro theme, bikes 30 years or older (1996 or earlier) qualify for discounted entry, making it an ideal opportunity for owners of older machinery to get out on track and enjoy some straight-line action.

Unlike traditional race meetings, the Race 4 Real format focuses on fun and participation, with multiple runs available across the evening and a low-pressure environment that encourages newcomers to get involved. Riders can even take passengers for selected runs, adding another layer of excitement for those looking to share the experience.

There are also prizes on offer, including awards for reaction times and standout vehicles, while food vendors and trade displays will keep the atmosphere buzzing throughout the night.

For motorcycle enthusiasts, the event offers a rare chance to legally and safely explore performance in a controlled setting, away from public roads, while enjoying a strong community vibe.

Entry pricing starts at $25 for spectators, with competitor passes from $55, and kids aged 12 and under admitted free. Get your entry sorted here.

With its mix of classic style, open competition and accessible format, Old School Cool at Sydney Dragway is shaping up as a great midweek outing for riders looking to experience the thrill of drag racing in a fun and welcoming setting.
