New Model | Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono Nera Revealed
Ducati has expanded its single-cylinder Hypermotard lineup with the introduction of the new Hypermotard 698 Mono Nera, adding an aggressive blacked-out variant to the Ducati supermoto family that has already proved to be a fun and popular model from the Italian premium brand. Press: Ducati
The new model features a striking total black livery accented by Ducati Red wheels and frame highlights, while a pair of homologated Termignoni silencers further sharpen the bike’s visual impact. Ducati Quick Shift also comes fitted as standard on the Nera version.
The Hypermotard 698 Mono platform marked Ducati’s return to the high-performance single-cylinder category, combining lightweight supermoto handling with Panigale-derived technology and electronics.
Power comes from Ducati’s 659cc Superquadro Mono engine, producing a claimed 77.5hp and revving to an impressive 10,250rpm — making it one of the most powerful production single-cylinder road engines available. The engine borrows heavily from the 1299 Panigale’s twin-cylinder architecture, including Desmodromic valve timing and a massive 116mm bore.
Ducati says the Hypermotard 698 Mono weighs just 151kg without fuel, helping reinforce its lightweight, agile supermoto character. The electronics package is also among the most advanced in the category, featuring Cornering ABS with Slide-by-Brake functionality, Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, Engine Brake Control and Ducati Power Launch.
The Nera edition adds extra visual drama through its black-and-red styling theme, while the Termignoni silencers give the bike a more aggressive appearance and soundtrack.
In Europe, Ducati has confirmed pricing from €13,990. Australian pricing has not yet been officially announced, however based on current local pricing for the standard Hypermotard 698 Mono and RVE variants, the new Nera is expected to land locally at approximately $26,000–$27,000 ride-away. The current Hypermotard 698 Mono range starts from $24,125 AUD ride-away for the standard model and $25,425 AUD ride-away for the RVE version in Australia.
European deliveries begin in June 2026, with Australian arrival expected later in the second half of 2026, most likely during spring if Ducati Australia follows its usual local release timing.
