Ducati’s latest Monster has been recognised with the prestigious Red Dot Design Award – Product Design 2026, adding another international design accolade to the Italian manufacturer’s growing collection. The award was announced on 6 August in Borgo Panigale, Bologna.

The Red Dot Award honours the fifth generation of the Monster, a model that has helped define the sporty naked motorcycle category since its debut in 1992. An independent international jury selected the latest version for its combination of design, innovation, functionality and aesthetics.

Introduced in 2025, the new Monster builds on the minimalist philosophy that has shaped the nameplate for more than three decades: “everything you need, nothing more.”  Ducati has retained several of the model’s most recognisable design features while giving the motorcycle a more contemporary appearance.

Key elements include the distinctive headlight framed by the shoulders of the bison-back fuel tank, a one-piece seat and a short, lightweight tail section. The latest generation also places greater emphasis on compact proportions, reduced weight and modern technology, creating what Ducati describes as a more essential and sporty interpretation of the iconic model.

The Red Dot recognition continues Ducati’s strong history at the awards. Previous winners include the 1199 Panigale in 2013, XDiavel S in 2016, Diavel 1260 in 2019 and, most recently, the Diavel V4 in 2024.

The latest award further reinforces the Monster’s status as one of Ducati’s most recognisable motorcycles, demonstrating how the company continues to evolve its established design language while maintaining the identity that has defined the model since 1992.
