2026 Honda NX500 Adds E-Clutch Option
Honda Australia has announced the arrival of the 2026 Honda NX500, with the adventure motorcycle continuing to offer a combination of everyday practicality, touring comfort and genuine off-road capability. Pricing starts at $10,999 Ride Away with a 6-Year Warranty.
For 2026, the NX500 is available in standard form or as the new NX500 E-Clutch, introducing Honda’s clutch-free shifting technology to the model for the first time. Both versions are powered by Honda’s 471cc DOHC parallel-twin engine, with the NX500 designed to cover everything from daily commuting and weekend touring to exploring beyond sealed roads.
Adventure credentials include long-travel suspension, a 19-inch front wheel, 180mm of ground clearance and a 17.5-litre fuel tank. A rally-inspired fairing and windscreen are also designed to improve rider comfort on longer journeys.
The NX500 features a 5-inch TFT display with Honda RoadSync smartphone connectivity, Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), ABS and Emergency Stop Signal (ESS). An 830mm seat height and manageable kerb weight are aimed at making the motorcycle approachable across a broad range of riders and conditions.
NX500 E-Clutch: From $11,399 RRP
The major addition for 2026 is the NX500 E-Clutch, which combines a conventional six-speed manual transmission with automated clutch operation. The system allows riders to start, stop and change gears without operating the clutch lever, while retaining the ability to use the conventional clutch manually whenever required. Honda says the system is designed to reduce rider workload, particularly in stop-start traffic, while retaining the engagement and control of a manual motorcycle.
“The NX500 is designed to suit riders looking for a motorcycle that can handle a broad range of riding conditions, from commuting and touring through to off-road adventures,” said Chris Schultz, General Manager, Powersports and Products at Honda Australia. “We’re excited to introduce E-Clutch to the NX500 range for 2026. It’s a technology that makes everyday riding easier while still giving riders the freedom to use the clutch whenever they choose.”
Both models are available in Pearl Horizon White or Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic and are backed by Honda Australia’s six-year warranty. Check out our full review shortly…
