Moto Guzzi have released the first look at their 2022 V100 Mandello. Check out what we know so far on this revolutionary new model from the Italian manufacturer...

The public have been given a sneak peak into the 2022 Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello prior to its full release at EICMA on the 23rd of November! Just by viewing the video released on the offical Moto Guzzi YouTube channel below, we can see a heap of ground breaking gadgets.

The elephant in the room is of course the massive transverse V-twin poking out the sides of the V100 with a radiator in front of it. Moto Guzzi have mostly kept it simple when it came to their V-twins by keeping the old-school air-cooled set-up on their V85 and V7 models. However, the V100 looks to have, at the minimum, newly designed heads and cooling system.

Future speculation and hints dropped by Moto Guzzi in the name “V100” suggest that we could be working with a capacity of 1000cc or more, an exciting development in the century old brands line-up of Transversely mounted powerplants. The V-twin will be shaft driven and the press images look to show a quick-shifter set-up.

The official presentation of the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello will take place on November 23, 2021, at the EICMA international motorcycle show in Milan.

Despite the styling looking an awful lot like the an early 2000s Honda VTR1000 with its wide single lens headlight the teaser video seems to show some sort of active aerodynamic set-up with the windshield changing position quickly and side spoilers extending themselves when the visor lifts. All in all, the styling is very retro though and reminds us of the old CX500 Honda or the Yamaha SECA…

Braking looks to be sorted by two, four-piston Brembo calipers at the front and a twin piston caliper at the rear. The disc look to be fairly sizeable, putting the 17 inch wheel size into perspective we should be selling disc sizes of around the 320mm range at the front and 260mm at the rear, a similar braking set-up to other models in their current line-up.

Suspension seems to be a tough one to decipher, we have a clear shot of the rear monoshock which looks to be very basic. A remote dampener adjustment can be seen with no electronic adjustments in sight. The front is an upside fork setup, it would make sense for Moto Guzzi to have some sort of electronically controlled or active suspension for a bike that has plenty of technology on it but there is not a clear enough shot anywhere to confirm this theory.

The V100 Mandello is shaping up to be a bike full of great technology. Full specs will be confirmed in November.

Other obvious features include a full-colour TFT screen which will hopefully house things like rider assist controls and engine mapping. In the press images, the wheels are wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV’s with a 120/70-17 at the front and a 190/55-17 at the rear.

Full specs will be confirmed at the end of November when the bike get unveiled at EICMA in Milan. The news of the bike dropped as Moto Guzzi announced their 100 year plan with their Mandello factory, so it’s looking like the V100 wont be the only new model to come from Moto Guzzi.
