Powered by the proven 451cc parallel-twin, the legend of the KLE returns with the all-new KLE500 and KLE500 SE. Due mid 2026, pricing is TBA, but here is what we know...

Kawasaki has unveiled the all-new KLE500 and KLE500 SE, reviving the KLE nameplate with modern engineering, this new model blends lightweight versatility, off-road performance, and long-range comfort in a package accessible to riders of all experience levels.Built around Kawasaki’s proven liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine with an assist and slipper clutch, the KLE500 delivers strong, flexible performance for everyday adventure use. The compact trellis frame keeps weight down while offering strength and stability across varied terrain, and a six-speed gearbox ensures smooth response both on and off the tarmac.

The chassis design features a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup, using IRC GP-410 tyres to balance road grip with dirt-trail traction. Suspension is handled by long-travel KYB units, tuned to provide confident handling on broken surfaces without compromising highway composure. Braking performance comes from powerful brakes with selectable ABS, allowing riders to tailor the system for loose-surface conditions.

Kawasaki has clearly drawn inspiration from its KX competition range, with rally-inspired bodywork, a slim mid-section, and an upright stance that gives riders an immediate sense of control. The three-position adjustable windscreen and ergonomic seat geometry provide long-distance comfort, while four ERGO-FIT seat options allow riders of all heights to find their ideal setup.

The SE version enhances the standard model with a number of premium upgrades: LED indicators, a TFT display, hand guards, a larger windscreen, and a robust alloy skid plate. Together, these additions give the KLE500 SE extra long-distance practicality and protection — ideal for serious touring or mixed-surface travel.

Both versions are available in distinctive new colours: the KLE500 SE in Metallic Bluish Green, and the KLE500 in Metallic Carbon Gray. Styling is purposeful and unmistakably Kawasaki, echoing the brand’s off-road DNA while keeping things sleek and contemporary.

Designed as a LAMs-compliant adventure bike, the KLE500 targets new and returning riders who want to experience true adventure styling and capability without the size or intimidation factor of larger machines. Kawasaki claims the bike’s natural ergonomics, low seat options, and broad power delivery make it one of the most confidence-inspiring midsize adventure models in its class.

With its balance of comfort, control and all-terrain ability, the 2026 KLE500 looks set to become a key model in Kawasaki’s global lineup. Pricing and availability for the Australian market  TBC.
