Benelli Australia & New Zealand have announced the arrival of the 502C LAMS approved cruiser, priced at $9,790 Ride Away.
The Benelli 502C is an all-new learner approved (LAMS) urban cruiser based on the brilliant Benelli parallel twin platform that makes the Leoncino and TRK models so good. We absolutely loved our long term Leoncino, Simba, and have been waiting for the cruiser version, knowing how good it could be. We will be attending the launch soon so stay tuned…
The 502C features adjustable forward mounted foot controls, wide cruiser handlebars, a low 750mm seat and a digital display dash. The LED headlight is LED and ABS is featured. The front brakes are twin four-piston radial-mount Brembo calipers with 280mm rotors, while a single piston floating caliper and 240mm rotor is featured at the back.
Tyre sizes are 120/70-17 and a fat 160/60-17 both on neat cast and machined alloy wheels. The trellis-styled frame with steel side plates emphasise the 502C’s cruiser design and the suspension is high-spec with 50mm inverted forks and rear monoshock.
The Benelli 502C features the well established in-line 500cc twin-cylindered, and liquid-cooled engine which offers a smooth and torquey power delivery with 35kW@8500rpm and 45Nm@5000rpm. Matched with a six-speed gearbox and 21L tank, it guarantees hours of effortless cruising for all roads and highways, with fuel consumption claimed at 4.2L/100km. It also meets Euro-4.
The Benelli 502C is priced at $9,790 Ride Away. More info on spec’s, colours and warranty here.

Great review. Thank you.
As someone who is looking at getting my L. I was wondering how this compares to Yamaha XSR700 which is on my short list. I’m gonna hit 40 soon and looking at a motor cycle for an occasional weekend leisure drive .
Thank you

Hi Jatin, it’s a great bike – very different to the XSR700, which is also fantastic but a different category. The XSR is a sports nakedbike, the 502C a cruiser, so really it depends on what type of riding you want to do and the seating position you are after. Is it possible for you to test ride both models or not? Jeff

Hi Jeff,
I know this is well after your review but my wife is fed up with being a pillion an wants a bike of her own. She is only 5ft 2/3 and 52kg so needs something with a low seat height and reasonable weight to gain confidence and learn on. I’d love her to get a Continental GT but think it would be too much for her, so what do you think? Once she has her full license she will get my Nightster and I will get the Continental or a Thruxton (money permitting).
Kind regards,
Howard

Hi Gill – sorry about the late reply. The GT will probably be too tall… the C is a great bike, go try to find one to test, it is a great handling thing and low seat height. Jeff.
