If you’ve wondered what we’re using here at BikeReview.com.au for our on-board footage then look no further, as we use the Contour Roam cameras, including the Roam3.
One of the big advantages of the Roam3 is the ease of use, easy mounting adjustability and rugged design. The camera is waterproof to 10m without any need for a bulky case, while shooting in 1080p at 30fps with an easy to use 5MP camera.
The battery lasts for up to 3.5 hours and we’ve had good luck videoing hours of on board footage, with the memory cards normally filling up before the battery runs out.
The 170-degree wide angle lenses captures all the action, while the front lens rotates 270 degrees, ensuring you’ll have the right orientation, once fitted to your helmet or motorcycle. A laser sighter also allows easy adjustment so you’ve got all axis covered.
It’s also in a tough body which has so far proven very resistance to scratching or damage, and a removable micro-SD card allows for larger cards to be used for increased storage.
