A fifth place in the third of three 16-lap races at Darwin’s Hidden Valley Raceway ASBK round marks the best race finish for Broc Pearson in the season to date, as the young rider continues his progression aboard the DesmoSport Ducati Panigale V4 R and keeps clawing away at that podium round finish.

Team co-owner, Ben Henry: “Darwin is one of my favourite race weekends on the calendar. Big crowds, great racing, V8’s, top fuellers and fighter jets, it’s a great weekend. I was happy for Broc, and happy for the team to leave Sunday with the 6th and 5th place results. We’ve been working hard, and we all firmly believe that Broc is capable of those results and even more on the bike. We were missing Hayden, Broc’s race mechanic, in Darwin so a big thank you to Pacey (John Pace) for stepping in to help out over the weekend, and also to Redbull Ampol Racing for once again letting us take over their garage in every session and giving us access to their equipment as needed. In race one, we had a low oil pressure issue that restricted the power in the bike. We spent a lot of time on Saturday afternoon getting the problem fixed and the result was Broc’s fastest time of the weekend and best results this season so far.”

Broc Pearson: “I can’t thank the team enough this weekend. It’s far from a race win, but it was great to finally get inside the top 5 and tick that one off the list. The whole team is doing their best to get the best result, we experience the highs & the lows together, so it felt great to leave the track on Sunday with a smile. I was able to move forward with good starts in every race, and races two and three, I was able to make passes, move forward through the field and start to race with that top five group of riders, and it felt pretty good.”

Team co-owner, Troy Bayliss: “While it wasn’t a perfect weekend, the team bounced back after some issues with the bike and we leave the circuit feeling pretty good. Broc was able to race where we think he should be with his experience, and it shows us that he is making progress forward. He did a great job at Morgan Park last year on his first ride with us, so it’s great to carry some more confidence into that round coming next.”

With round four now in the books, DesmoSport Ducati now gets set to return to Morgan Park Raceway on July 14-16. A track where DesmoSport Ducati has experienced a lot of success in past years, it’s also considered a home circuit for Pearson, and expectations of a strong result will be high.
