Sydney Dragway is set to roar back to life when the Gulf Western Oil Nitro Champs return from May 1–3, promising three days of thunderous engines, high-speed action and one of the biggest drag racing events of the Australian season, so head out and check out the bikes. Press: Sydney Dragway.

More than 240 racers have already entered, with the field still growing as teams prepare to descend on Sydney for a huge weekend of side-by-side racing. The event brings together the fastest and most spectacular machines in the country, delivering wave after wave of competition from morning through to night under the lights.

Headlining the program will be BLAHST Top Fuel and XPRO Nitro Funny Car, featuring the fastest accelerating race cars on the planet. These nitro-burning monsters are capable of reaching more than 500km/h in just seconds, producing the signature thunder and ground-shaking power that has made the Nitro Champs one of the highlights of the Australian drag racing calendar.

Joining them will be a stacked line-up of professional categories including Top Doorslammer, Top Fuel Motorcycle, Pro Mod, Pro Alcohol, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Bike, ensuring there is no shortage of elite racing across the three-day event.

Motorcycle fans will have plenty to watch as the Top Fuel Motorcycle and Pro Stock Bike classes take to the strip, showcasing some of the quickest two-wheeled drag racers in the country as they battle it out over the quarter-mile.

The professional categories will be supported by more than 200 Aeroflow Sportsman Championship racers, filling the staging lanes and delivering a constant stream of racing throughout the weekend. From grassroots competitors to seasoned championship contenders, the Sportsman field adds depth and variety to an already packed program.

For fans wanting a premium viewing experience, hospitality boxes overlooking the drag strip are now available, catering for groups of up to 16 people with uninterrupted views from the start line through to the finish. With massive fields, world-class machinery and the unmistakable crackle of nitro engines filling the air, the Gulf Western Oil Nitro Champs promises to be a standout motorsport weekend for Sydney.
