Ducati has expanded its Monster range with the introduction of the new Monster Dark, bringing an understated all-black appearance to its latest-generation naked motorcycle. Revealed on October 29, 2026, the new model takes the familiar Monster formula and gives it a darker, more minimalist identity while retaining the performance and technology of the current 890cc V2 platform.

Underneath the new styling is Ducati’s 890cc V2 engine featuring Intake Variable Timing (IVT), producing a claimed 111hp at 9000rpm and 91.1Nm of torque at 7250rpm. Ducati says the engine combines sporty performance with accessible delivery, making the Monster suitable for urban riding and more spirited outings.

890cc V2 Performance
The latest-generation V2 engine is designed to provide a broad spread of performance, with more than 80 per cent of peak torque available between 4000rpm and 10,000rpm. Ducati has also focused on keeping ownership practical, with valve-clearance inspections scheduled at 45,000km intervals. The Monster Dark weighs a claimed 175kg without fuel, a four-kilogram reduction compared with the previous model.

Lightweight Chassis and Premium Running Gear
The Monster Dark uses an aluminium monocoque frame, with a hybrid rear subframe combining technopolymer and trellis construction. Suspension is supplied by Showa, with a 43mm upside-down front fork and a rear monoshock featuring adjustable preload. Braking is handled by Brembo M4.32 calipers, while Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres measure 120/70 at the front and 180/55 at the rear. Seat height is 815mm, with a narrow seat and tank profile designed to make reaching the ground easier while retaining a comfortable, sporting riding position.

Comprehensive Electronics Package
A six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) supports the Monster Dark’s rider assistance systems, including Cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control and Engine Brake Control. Four selectable Riding Modes – Sport, Road, Urban and Wet – allow riders to tailor the motorcycle’s response to conditions and preferences. Ducati Quick Shift 2.0 is also included. The cockpit features a five-inch full-colour TFT display, full LED lighting and daytime running lights. A range of optional accessories includes the Ducati Multimedia System, turn-by-turn navigation, cruise control and Ducati Power Launch. An A2 licence-compliant version will also be available.

The Dark Side of Monster Styling. The new Ducati Dark livery gives the Monster a more understated appearance, with black wheels, a single-material seat and unpainted components including the front frame, exhaust end caps and air intake snorkel. The styling retains the familiar sculpted tank, compact proportions and muscular naked-bike silhouette, while placing greater emphasis on the exposed mechanical elements. Ducati is also marking the launch with its IMLegend campaign, a photographic project bringing together iconic Ducati riders and Monster owners from around the world to celebrate more than three decades of the model.

Availability
The new Ducati Monster Dark is scheduled to arrive at selected European dealerships from November 2026, with North American availability planned for February 2027. US pricing has been announced at US$12,995. Australian pricing, specification and arrival timing have not yet been confirmed.

With its 890cc V2 engine, 175kg weight without fuel, premium running gear and extensive electronics, the Monster Dark adds a more understated option to Ducati’s naked-bike family while retaining the performance and technology of the latest Monster.
