Ducati Australia New Zealand have announced the reintroduction of the Monster 659, produced exclusively for the Australian and New Zealand markets and accessible to all learner riders under the Learner Approved Motorcycle Scheme (LAMS).

The all-new 659 is based on the new Monster 797, likewise a new model for 2017. The same key features, benefits and levels of safety are shared across both models including ABS as standard.

The new 659 will also offer the key elements of its predecessor; lightweight, easy handling and rider friendly V-Twin power delivery. The 2018 version of the 659 will have a very attractive low standard seat height of 785mm; ideal for all learner, female and smaller riders.

Essential Ducati detailing, high quality and safety is evident throughout the 659 design as with all Ducati models, as is the styling, renowned by the already well established and iconic naked Monster family.

“Ducati has once again produced the new Monster 659 specifically for our market so as many Learner riders as possible to have the opportunity to ride a new Ducati,” said Warren Lee, CEO – Ducati Australia and New Zealand. “The new 659 is based on the new 797, which is already proving to be a very popular model with younger, female and less experienced riders, so again it’s the ideal basis for our new LAMS model.”

As with all new Ducati motorcycles, the Monster 659 will be covered by a Two-Year Unlimited Kilometre Warranty and 24 Roadside and Emergency Assist.

The new Monster 659 is expected to arrive and be on sale from October 2017 with an introductory RRP of AU $12,490 plus Dealer and Statutory Charges.
