After a difficult season, Superbike veteran Stauffer was determined to finish the 2016 race season on a high. Crowds were treated to the impressive form that the Honda rider is known for at Phillip Island – showcasing his maturity and experience over three action packed days.

On Friday, Stauffer showed early speed recording the fourth fastest time in practice and despite qualifying in sixth position in treacherous conditions, Stauffer crossed the line in third place.

The second race for the Superbikes was cancelled due to the wet weather on Saturday and there after Stauffer claimed his first race win of the year.  On Sunday he secured second which rewarded the team with second overall for the weekend.

“I can’t thank the team enough for their support and encouragement throughout the weekend. It was so nice to finally be able to reward them for all their hard work this year with a few podiums and what place better to do it than at the MotoGP.” He added.
