The National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team will enter this weekend’s opening round of the 2016 Australian Supercross Championship in Jimboomba, Queensland, refreshed and ready for battle aboard 2017 model KX450F machinery.

The team is set to enter Saturday’s event with latest signing, former Monster Energy AMA Supercross Eastern Regional 250SX champion, Wil Hahn, alongside resident factory Kawasaki contender Kade Mosig.

Team manager Troy Carroll looks forward to a strong season in the premier SX1 category with a pair of highly-competitive racers under the National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team awning for this season.

“It’s been great to get Wil over for the supercross series, he’s going to bring a lot to the team,” said Carroll. “Kade was a strong force last year with second overall, so we believe he can do the job again this year. We’re excited to go racing, we’ve got a full team and we’re hoping for some good results.”

Mosig has made the most of the short three-week break between motocross and supercross, fine-tuning both the 2017 Kawasaki KX450F race bike and his preparation program ahead of the season-opener.

“I’m excited to get the supercross season started, I’m confident and I feel like my preparation has been perfect,” Mosig commented.

“From motocross to now, it’s only been three weeks, but I feel like we’ve definitely crammed a lot into that space. I think the Kawasaki is really good and we’ve built the 2017 KX450F into an awesome supercross bike.”

KAWASAKI RACING TEAM SET FOR SUPERCROSSNot satisfied with his MX Nationals results, the Queensland-based rider will be aiming to one-up his second place 2015 supercross result and claim the 2016 SX1 Australian Supercross Championship.

“I just want to be there every weekend and just try to redeem myself after the motocross championship that didn’t really go to plan for me,” he explained. “We’ve got six rounds to get it done, I finished second last year, so I’d like to go one better – that’s my goal.”

After spending the last week adjusting to his new temporary home and laying down laps aboard his 2017 KX450F, American import Hahn is excited to get the racing underway.

“We flew over last Sunday and just got acclimated with everything,” Hahn said. “I got to ride the last few days doing a bit of testing and basically just settling in and getting used to the time difference more than anything. I’m starting to come around now and I’m just excited to go racing.”

The well-versed racer is comfortable within the National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team environment and believes the revised 2017 KX450F platform allows for a smooth transition when racing internationally.

“Everyone here has welcomed me with open arms and it made the transition really easy,” he added. “Obviously the bike is really good, that made it easy to come from the US over here stepping on to a really good platform. I couldn’t be more excited, the team has made it as easy as they possibly could.”
