National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team racers Kyle Peters and Kade Mosig are seeking to finish the 2016 MX Nationals on a winning note at the series finale at Coolum, Queensland, this weekend.

Following a standout second overall and race win at the ninth round of the championship at Toowoomba last Sunday, American Peters is eager to again pit his skills against Australia’s best and the rough Coolum sand track that will greet him on Saturday and Sunday.

peters-toowomba-2016In his debut appearance for the National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team at Toowoomba, Peters impressed many with his qualifying win and wire-to-wire race victory around the hard-pack track, but is equally at home in the sand.

“The tracks I ride back home in North Carolina are pretty sandy and I think I’ll adapt really well to the Coolum circuit,” Peters explained. “The Kawasaki KX450F is amazing and the team has been awesome. Everyone’s shown me a really great time and I’m looking forward to getting back out on track for this final round.”

Victorian Kade Mosig, who’s currently positioned in fourth in the MX1 championship, is also eager to finish his season on a high-note and chase the race and round wins that have eluded him so far in 2016.

A sixth overall last weekend at Toowoomba was disappointing by his high standards and Coolum represents his last chance to taste victory before the team’s focus turns to the upcoming supercross championship.

mosig-toowoomba-2016-2“Coolum’s always a good round and it’s a track I know well after racing there since my Junior days,” Mosig describes. “Being based on the Gold Coast I’ve been able to ride there quite a bit and racing sand-based tracks comes naturally for me. I’m ready to finish this season on a good note and head into the supercross championship.”

The Coolum finale of the championship is a two-day affair, with MX1 practice and qualifying on Saturday and the main racing on Sunday. Gates to the Coolum Pines MX track open at8:00am both days. Tickets are available at the gate.
