KAWASAKI RACING TEAM’S MOSIG FOURTH IN MX NATIONALS
National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team’s Kade Mosig has completed the final round of the 2016 MX Nationals with a fourth-place finish in the round and standings at Coolum, Queensland.
The determined Mosig concluded the series fourth in the championship standings. At Coolum’s finals he qualified third fastest in Super Pole before going on to 5-4 moto results.
Moto one saw Kade secure a start in the top five where he would remain for the duration of the race. He held onto fourth position for several laps, however he would cross the finish line in fifth.
In race two Mosig was able to better his result in the difficult conditions, ending the 30 minutes plus one lap moto in fourth, crediting him fourth overall for the day and series.
“It was a tough day toay – the track was brutal,” Mosig stated. “I really enjoy riding in the sand and I came into today wanting that podium that I didn’t achieve, but it’s still been a really enjoyable and positive series with the team and aboard the KX450F.
“A big thank you too all of our supporters and everybody who has been behind me this season. Now it’s time to focus on the Australian Supercross Championship and I’m really feeling confident that it will be a strong end to the year for National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team.”
US import Kyle Peters raced to an impressive third in moto one after recovering from a less than stellar start, in what was his second appearance with the team. He made several passes throughout the opening laps, making the all-important move for third in the closing stages.
An issue in moto two saw the American guest forced to retire from the race, recording a DNF after originally positioning himself inside the top five. However it was still an extremely positive and successful two events with National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team.
“It was a good day racing,” Peters reflected. “I struggled in the beginning, but I overcame it in the first moto where I started charging at the end to finish third and that was a great result in my first race at Coolum.
“I had a bit of an issue in the second moto, but hey, things can happen to people sometimes. It’s been a great trip with the National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki team, [team manager] Troy Carrol and his family – I hope to be back one day and I’m really thankful.”
National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team will now turn its attention to the opening round of the 2016 Australian Supercross Championship with Mosig and high profile American Wil Hahn, set to be contested at Jimboomba X Stadium in Queensland onSaturday, 17 September.
