The last race of the Oceania Junior Cup was an epic battle to start off the last day of racing of the mi-bike Motorcycle Insurance Australian Superbike Championship, presented by Motul, at Phillip Island.

There were constant lead changes between Quinn, Marianos Nikolas, Tom Drane, with Cameron Dunker, Hayden Nelson, Cameron Swain, Clay Clegg, Henry Snell, Lincoln Knight, Angus Grenfell, Nate O’Neill, Casey Middleton, and Jai Russo hot on their heels.

Quinn took the win, Marianos Niklos second and Tom Drane third.
For such close racing at the very first round, the Oceania Junior Cup is sure to get even more intense throughout the year.

Quinn was very happy with his weekend’s performance.
“It was good, it was pretty tough I had to work really hard for that one as there was a lots of passing everywhere,” Quinn said.
On the last lap I was thinking I just had to go as hard as I can, got a good slip stream and made it”.

James Weaver came home in 19th in his third race of the weekend, the 11-year-old Central Coast NSW rider (and son of our contributor Mark Weaver) taking home good experience from his first ever OJC race meeting… James is recovering from a broken collarbone sustained six weeks ago after a highside during testing. He is not at full strength yet but will be by Wakefield Park.
James has been racing in MotoStars and this was his first time to P.I. He qualified 17th in the wet (on a dry bike) and finished 16th, 15th and 19th in the three races. A really positive week for James.

James Weaver had a positive weekend as he continues to heal from a broken collarbone six weeks ago in a training accident.
